Bad little Fawn

That is something my mom would always say... and it's true.  As the "season of giving" begins, I happened to come across the Kate Spade sample sale last night... it was so very bad.  What was I supposed to do?!

I had to get one... honestly I wanted three, but with a custom sofa order in to Pottery Barn, and the multitude of other expenses looming from the move and my new gig as part-time interior designer, I had to limit myself to just one.  And it is GORGEOUS!!!

The ultra large, crocodile embossed patent leather... yummy... and the color is called Goose - how cute is that?!  Dear Kate, you have outdone yourself again.  Love, Becky

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Ahh the holidays...  I LOVE this time of year, when the air gets really cold and still, and at night you see twinkling fairy lights in all the windows as you pass by.  I WISH it snowed here, but honestly I'm such a whimp, I could never imagine shoveling the driveway before work.

Today is so cold and foggy - the perfect day to curl up and watch all my favorite Christmas movies, but alas, I am at work.  Tonight, we are headed downtown for a little pre-Christmas shopping event.  We are so lucky, and spoiled - we are meeting one of our sales reps at Bloomingdales, and we get to pick out a new pair of swanky holiday shoes.  Lucky us!  In addition to being spoiled rotton, I am very much looking forward to seeing the tree and the ice rink in Union Square.  That will get me geared up for the holidays - some mulled wine or a hot toddy would be amazing too :-)

Speaking of delicious holiday drinks I found these fabulous mulling spices at Williams Sonoma - they are amazing in mulled wine, but I have also found that seeping them in simmering water gives your house this yummy "been baking all day" smell.  I think I will surprise Kris tonight with a delicious smelling house, and a bowl of ice cream.  I know how to win him over :-)

Funny story here - one of my all time favorite bloggers, Jordan Ferney is from San Francisco, and I believe her husband is a photographer/artist... I wonder if this is him or if its just an uncanny coincidence...

A very Happy Thanksgiving

There is so much to be thankful for - a good job, a wonderful boyfriend, a loving family, and good health.  May 2012 bring more blessings into my life.

SOO ready for the eating to begin!!

...And in the Spirit of Thanksgiving

Kris gets one too!

Let me back up the story for a second.  For my birthday back in March, I asked Kris for the new iPhone 5 when it came out.  Well after months of delays, Apple announces that the iPhone 5 won't be out for months still, so they are releasing the 4S.  Same thing to me!  8 months later, I get my shiny new present - just a week before Kris' birthday.  I told him he couldn't get one for himself once I got mine for my birthday present, becuase then it wouldn't be as special.  He does not quite understand this, but after having an outdated flip phone for years, I just want to be the one with the cool new gadget for a while.

Anyways, being the sweet thing that he is, he agreed not to get it for himself...

Little does he know, I am getting him the black one for his birthday...  he is going to be SO surprised.  I cannot WAIT to see the look on his face.  Priceless.

My New Little Toy

I LOVE THIS THING!!  Quite the upgrade from my cracked, red, Samsung flip phone circa 2001 (may she rest in peace)

A very Thankful 2011

One of my favorite holidays is just around the corner.  I happen to LOVE Thanksgiving becuase unlike Christmas, there isn't the added stress of buying people presents.  It's just about spending time with the people you love, and eating and drinking to your hearts content.

This year, we are heading to Kris' half sister's house earlier in the day, and then doubling back to my parents. I find splitting the holidays to be stressful, and sad.  I never really feel like we are spending quality time because one eye is always on the clock.  I also feel like no one is ever happy that we have to run half-way through the day, but luckily I have the best parents in the world.  My mom just wants me to be happy, and really doesn't put pressure on me to stay at their house.

This year has brought a lot to be thankful for - I have gotten promoted, Kris and I have moved in to a new home together, my family is in good health, my sister just got married.  I am at a very happy, peaceful time in my life, where the puzzle pieces seem to be fitting together, and for once, there are very few things I could honestly say I'd want to change.

To all the people struggling right now, may the rest of the year bring peace, and may we stop to be thankful for one thing every day.

It's Almost that time of year again...

For the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!!!  These women are so stunningly beautiful - I cannot wait to see the wings, glitter, diamonds, and big hair...  oh I can't wait!!

Feeling Lucky

The Yi Peng Festival occurs every year in Lanna (northern Thailand), where thousands of lanterns are lit and released into the sky to symbolize good luck, new beginnings, and quite literally, your problems and worries floating away from you into the night sky.  I find the idea of this so romantic, and would do anything to witness this festival in real life.  Can you imagine how lovely this would be - very surreal like a glowing dream land.

I actually think that this would be a really beautiful and symbolic thing to do at a wedding - for the couple to light a lantern together, and release it into the night.  It would also be very cool for the guests to also light lanterns and release them with well wishes for the happy couple.

Enjoy some more breathtaking shots of this festival of hope:

Sexy little somethings...

StyleMePretty - my FAVORITE wedding blog, posted the new Heirloom Collection from Claire Pettibone.  This lingerie comes with a price tag, but it's handcrafted, french lace and silks - so romantic, and feminine... perfect for the wedding night, or a special anniversary.

I am absolutely in LOVE with the cropped bralette with the scalloped edges... to die for!

P.S.  Is that model the most beautiful woman alive or what?

Holiday Inspiration

I am a secret shopaholic, and now that Halloween is past us, it seems that everyone is gearing up for the holidays.  I received roughly 30 emails today about sales, holiday trends, and festive accessories that really got me thinking.  Not that I have plans for new years, but isn't this the most darling outfit to ring in the new year??

1. Tuxedo Jacket BCBG via ShopStyle

2. ADORABLE sparkly cocktail dress Adrianna Papell for Nordstrom
3. Disco ball drop earrings - VERY Times Square ball drop, Kate Spade
4. How cute is this "box of chocolates" clutch, Kate Spade
5. Chocolate gems to match the purse, another Kate Spade winner
6. Strappy sandles with a gladiator twist sex everything up, Bloomingdales

We Made It!!

This past weekend was utterly exhausting - I unfortunately have been battling my first cold of the season, and perhaps it's in my head, but the aches and pains have become noticeably more acute each year.  Regardless, I powered through, and after 3 full days of packing, lifting, lugging, and transporting, everything we own is now in the new place!  Last night marked a new beginning for me - it was the first night since we've moved in that I've slept the entire night all the way through, and it felt great.  Today I am making a conscious effort to cancel all events for the remainder of the week so I can focus on nesting at home and getting things in order.  I know this grace period of not minding the clutter will be gone before I know it, so I had better get a handle on organizing it all early.

It is AMAZING how much stuff two people can accumulate.  I spent all of Friday going through my stuff with my mom - she was so sweet and spent her day off helping me pack up my life... the things mom's do!  We sorted through clothes I no longer wear (or no longer fit, eeks) tossed old things I've been hanging on to, and organized room after room.  Right now, the trunk of my car is filled to the brim with garbage bags, stuffed with clothes to give away.  From a glance, it looks like I'm some mob queen with bodies ready for dumping. Ha!  Saturday the movers took care of the big stuff, and on Sunday Kris and I went through his stuff - much more fun to toss his things out than mine, but it was so therapeutic   Getting rid of so much stuff, really gave us the feeling that we were starting fresh together.

The weather has taken a turn, and our San Francisco summer is just a memory now.  The air has a chill in it that I have not felt in a year, the leaves have changed overnight, and we need an extra blanket on the bed.  The new apartment is wonderful - it's still packed to the brim, and I am trying to find a home for everything.  This takes a bit of strategy since closet space is limited, and my shoe collection has ballooned over the past several years.  Luckily, the boxes and clutter have not gotten to me yet, so while the new place is a huge mess, I am unfazed (for now).  Ask me in a week, and I will be going out of my mind that we are still not settled.

With the change in weather and the new apartment, it feels that with the new season is a new part of my life.  Shedding the old, and moving forward with the new.  It's exciting, and scary, and weird, yet so normal to wake up with the love of my life in our new home together.

I found these super cool photos of San Francisco covered in fog - while the weekend was rainy and today is crisp and clear, these shots are so cool, and sooo San Francisco.
